Introduction

In 2007 Keith, Huw, Martin and Simon cycled from the UK to Sardinia, the ride was so much fun that the following year we flew to Sardinia with our bikes and a couple of extra friends, Steve and Nigel, and rode back to the UK. In the process of these 2 rides we raised over £25,000 which paid for new neo natal cots at Pool Hospital Maternity Ward.

Well were off again this time its with a twist! Huw's son Will, Simon's son Paul and Martins children Michael and Katie are going to repeat the ride from Bournemouth to Sardinia. Huw, Keith, Martin and Simon will be in tow for moral support.

Of course, they wanted to do it the hard way so this time were are going over the Alps!
See the full profile of the riders click here >

Leaving on the 2nd August the route will take us from Castle Point shopping centre in Bournemouth to Portsmouth, where we catch the ferry to Le Havre. We will head to Paris, onto Chambery, over the Alps to Turin, then down to the Med to catch a ferry to Corsica and then over to Sardinia. Nearly 1,000 miles in total !!! 2 weeks cycling and camping all the way.

The chosen Charity this year is SEDCAT (South East Dorset Community Accessible Transport) or more commonly known as the "BAT BUS" which provides accessible transport for the elderly and those who find using public transport difficult. SEDCAT was chosen after Will Nurse's wheelchair bound Grandmother, and a regular user of the service, explained how valuable the BAT bus is to the community. We hope to raise enough money for a new 8 seater/wheelchair mini bus so any donations would be greatly appreciated. For more information about the charity and the mini bus please click here >

On this website you can donate using the Donate button, follow our progress on twitter, check on our location using the google map and come and meet us at events in July at Castle point (dates to follow).

We are also need large donations from Bournemouth's larger company's, in which case please feel free to email us alison.morrison@bournemouthct.org.uk for more benefits and information.
